Kitchen Goodies

I joined the Kitchen Swap over at the ‘Ville and was thrilled when I was partnered with Crojulee.  Julee is one of the people that I’m always a little bit jealous of, she designs such beautiful things!  And I’m not talking about pulling out a pattern and picking the colors to make the item in.  Nope, Julee writes the patterns.  I’ve been lucky enough to test a couple of her designs before and I’m in awe of what she can do.

I picked up the box that Julee sent me on Saturday and even though I had other errands to run, I HAD to open it up and peek.  So I did while sitting in the post office parking lot.  And here’s what she sent me:

dishcloths

These are dishcloths.  If you look closely, the top two have a “V” on each side.  I thought that was pretty dang cool! (Especially since without directions, no way could I do that)

And here’s everything else!  Isn’t it all beautiful?!  I got a dress potholder/soap cover, a star pot holder, flower potholder.  At the top of the Hershey’s is a candle mat.  To the left of the candle mat is a small pot holder, then three scrubbies (under the dress).  The long thing at the bottom left is a bag holder/dispenser!  I’m still trying to figure out where to put it by the patio door.  It’ll be perfect for Ceria’s clean up after her bags.

I’m still working on items for Julee’s, in fact I’ll finish the last item tonight.  The weather has made my hands sore lately so my crocheting has slowed down.  Once Julee gets her package though, I promise I’ll show everyone pictures.

On a side note, I swung by Joann’s to pick up the last items for Julee’s box tonight and ended up splurging on myself!  Joann’s had on clearance some Paton’s Rumor Yarn.  This is a mixture of acrylic and Alpaca and is soooo unbelievably soft!  I couldn’t stop petting it, even when I handed my basket to the cashier I had to pet it one more time.  And I got such pretty colors (click herefor the color card).  I got three skeins of Duberry Heather and 5 of Hibiscus Heather.  And they were all $1.97 each!  Regularly $5.99.  I think that was worth the splurge, don’t you?  I know the Hibiscus will be a wrap for me.  It’s such a beautiful wine color and I can so picture it as a wrap.  Which one, I’m not sure.  I’ll have to find a pattern perfect for it.  I’m not sure about the Duberry yet though.  But I do know whatever I do with it, it’s mine.  I’m not giving that item away 😀

What is a soap cover? That bag thing at the bottom one of the scrubbies is the same material and it looks like a thumb sticking off so I thought it was a giant cover-your-hand potholder. LOL
