Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.

– Margrart Lee Runbeck

This quote was from Saturday and, honestly, it seemed really fitting.  See I signed up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.  I’ve only done 5k’s so far.  And until Saturday, that was the farthest I’ve ever run.  So needless to say, I’m a little panicked about actually doing a half marathon.  My goal is to not be swept and to finish upright 🙂  Sounds like a good goal to me.  But how is this quote fitting?  Pretty easy actually.  I will be very happy to finish, naturally, but it’s the sense of accomplishment I feel for each little step of the way that makes me happy.

Saturday I was technically supposed to run 5 miles, however since I’m about 3 weeks behind and last week was 3 miles, I split the difference and ran 4.  As I was going I kept telling myself I could do it, I can do 3 miles so the extra mile is cake.  I not only completed the 4 miles, but I did so in 56:17.  Not bad if I do say so myself 🙂  My station is the Half Marathon in February and I will be happy with each step I take to get there.
